the political posts have to do with boating information?

I would guess the same thing they have to do with the topics of the other
forums they infest, nothing.
So why do you read them?
Can't help yourself?

I know
there are other forums, but personally prefer newsgroup based
forums to web based.

So now you are saying you like unmoderated newsgroups better than moderated
forums!?
But want the unmoderated newsgroups to run like moderated forums.

Funny, I could have swore you wrote:
"I wish this could
become a moderated forum."

I give up. When the two of you come to a consensus on what you think, get back
to me.

Till then, get used to the way things work around here and learn how to work
around them. Because they aren't going to be changing any time soon from what I
can see. Thank goodness.
