Harry,
This photo is very nice, it actually looks professional. It is possible you
could sell this photo to a surfing magazine or a web site promoting surfing.
I like the way the fishing boat provided you with a perfect opportunity to
snap this photo, very impressive.

If you think Harry's photo "looks professional", and you are "very
impressed" with it, you don't know **** about photography. Also, I take
it you've never been anywhere near the Honolulu/Waikiki/Diamond Head
area? There's so many surfers in the water some days it would be hard
to motor out of the harbors without being that close to them.

Smithers tries so hard to hector, yet he is doomed to fail. My Hawai'i
photos exist mainly to remind us of a pleasant trip. I'm a fairly decent
amateur photographer, that's all.

I was using a short tele lens on those shots, so the distance between
the boat and the surfers was optically shortened, or "compressed," if
you will. Also, I'm posting compressed versions of .jpeg shots, not the
original NEFs. so the quality of the photos is somewhat less than the
originals.

Oh, I understand quite well.
