Interesting thread. I always thought it was a "Canada vs US" thing: "pop"
in Canada, "soda" in the US.
For whatever reason, it is a *very* localized regional thing.
Generally (although it can vary even from one city to the next) "Pop" in
the north, "Soda" in the southwest, midwest, and northeast, and "Coke"
in the south.

Personally, I say either coke (for any cola) or pop (for almost all
