HOUSTON International
IN-THE-WATER BOAT SHOW Cancelled
Due to Hurricane Rita and the effects it had on the Gulf Coast, the
2005 Houston International In-the-Water Boat Show and Boat Auction that
was to be held September 29th - October 2nd at Watergate Yachting
Center, has been cancelled.

"The arrival of Hurricane Rita prevented us from setting up in time
to open for the show." said Ken Lovell President of the Boating
Trades Association, who puts on the event each year. "Fortunately for
boating enthusiasts, the 50th Anniversary of the Houston International
Boat Sport and Travel Show is right around the corner, January 6th thru
the 15th at Reliant Center."

The Clear Lake area, where the show takes place, was spared from the
severe damage expected and most local boating businesses are open and
anxious to help the public enjoy boating. The Boating Trades
Association recommends that consumers contact these businesses
individually for additional information or to view the wide selection
of vessels, products and services they have available, as many have
boat show special pricing that may still be in effect.

The Boating Trades Association of Metropolitan Houston holds
three boat shows a year in the Houston area. The next show, the 2006
Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show, January 6th - 15th
at Reliant Center, is one of the largest boat shows in the country and
will be feature new attractions as well as old favorites in celebration
of 50 amazing years of boating tradition.
Place: The Reliant Center, Houston, Texas
Admission: Adults $7.00, Children (under 12) $3.00
