What do you think is better... offering people some diversity in their
training, where each new class is a challenge of both boat size and
configuration, or offering people a consistent exerience, albeit at one
level?
For example, a diverse experience might be: intro classes on dinghies,
intermediate classes on 20-25 foot keel boats, and more advanced classes on
larger keel boats, say in the 30-35 foot range. A monotone fleet might be,
say a bunch of Santana 22s or J-24s.
Keep in mind that to get a complete experience in this neck of the woods (SF
north bay), the diverse fleet is more appropriate, but there are higher
costs associated with maintaining a diverse fleet.
