No surprise. CNN, at the very least, has a long and distinguished history
of running bald rumors (on selected stories) for one or two cycles of HN,
then pulling them for "lack of verification". By then, of course, millions
have seen it and the damage is done.

It was a few days after the peak of Superdome hype, but was the Fox
report about food and water being turned away a mile from the Superdome
verified by anyone other than Major Garrett?
