I am on the right coast.
A few years ago the US put tariffs on Canadian lumber, 2x4's specifically,
because your cost of production, harvesting and shipping, was lower than the
cost of our lumber. So, Canada's response was to drill a hole, ostensibly
for the electrical wire to go through, in each 2x4 and call it manufactured
lumber by passing the tariffs on unmanufactured lumber.
