In point of fact, if you actually read the Snopes entry, you will find that
they do not call it 'debunked', but merely unconfirmed. There was at least
one documented discussion of the method at that time in the Philippines, but
they simply cannot confirm that the Black Jack Pershing incident actually
occurred. But definitely not "...old debunked silliness...".
