If it's in Maryland I know of the boat. Am actually thinking of buying it
myself. Not sure about this but I think they were built in Shanghai by a
japanese company in the 70's They were all custom made boats. I don't know
how many were made. From what I've seen of them (I've only seen one in
"person") they are pretty nice boats. Being from the 70's any Nantai will
require some attention. (so what else is new). What you save in the sale
price I'm sure will be made up by repairs and maitenance. (again, what else
is new)
If the boat in question is the one I"ve been interested in, I wish you well
but I may buy it before you. With some TLC that boat will be a showpiece!

A Nantai 37 Cutter is listed locally at a reasonable price and I have
been having trouble finding information on the boat design, quality,
sailing character, maintenance issues (other than the teak decks). If
you are familiar with this boat and can offer additional information or
links to sources I would be very appreciative.
It was mentioned by a personal contact that these boats were imported
by a Lake Michigan based charter company and may have been made in the
Cheoy Lee factory but no idea of the designer.
