I'll tack onto this note, because I can't find a note that suggested
setting up electrolytic protection on a copperl coated hull.

This is a reminder, that Humphry Davy thought he was onto a very good
thing when he set up electrolytic protection for copper sheathed
hulls.

The Royal Navy bought the idea - big time.

Sad to tell - though their copper cladding no longer corroded - sea
creatures were no longer dissuaded either - so the cladding grew long
beards of livestock....
Moral - need copper salts dissolving to keep the barnicle and fuzz
off.
