Red Cloud,
Sean Penn very rarely travels with a professional photographer, and actually
is offended when his picture is taken when he is not working. If his first
objective was to save lives, he would not hired a professional photographer
to take up valuable space in a small boat. I am glad that Sean Penn
volunteered to help, and it really doesn't matter why he did, he did help
some people who needed it. I was just agreeing with
Dbohara that it appears to be a publicity stunt".
Since you asked about my own contribution to helping the refugees, besides a
donation to Salvation Army, I volunteered (and worked 60 hrs ) with a church
organization finding homes for those displaced by the hurricane. I had to
get back to work on Tuesday, but I hope to take more time off next week to
volunteer again. While we were able to find many homes, it is a drop in the
bucket to what needs to be done.

Harry,
You need to learn how to read for content. Dbohara did not say he could
read Sean Penn's mind, he said since the photographer was taking up space
that could have been used for search or rescue specialist, or the space on
his boat could be used for someone rescued "it appears to be a publicity
stunt".
Since the photographer was making the pictures available to be published,
it
does appear to be a publicity stunt.
Senn Penn ALWAYS travels with a personal photographer. He's in show
business. That's what he does for a living. Did you bring a
photographer when you traveled to NO at your own expense to try and
help? I wouldn't count it against you either, as long as you were
doing SOMETHING other than criticizing those who were doing a hell of
a lot more than you are.

It appears to many of us to simply be a case of:
"Wow, people suffering, i bet I can get publicity from this",
otherwise, why the personal photographer?
Wouldnt it have made more sense for him to pay someone who actually
knows Search and Rescue to work? But, he wouldnt have gotten the
publicuty then, so it looks like a publicity stunt at the expense of
other peoples suffering.
In addition to your other talents, you're a mind reader?
