I don't know. Perhaps there were some. Perhaps not (most likely).

But that doesn't address my original questions.

So what do you think about what *is* happening?


It sucks. But if the water was just allowed to stay in NO, it would most likely
rise, with rainfall, and eventually spill into the Gulf anyway. The flow from
Lake Ponchatrain (sp?) appears to be through a relatively small river (stream)
on the eastern edge. I would imagine the flow would be much less than that from
the Mississippi, the other place to dump the water.

BTW, if you haven't gone here and downloaded 'Google Earth', do it. It is the
coolest, free thing I've seen on the internet in ages!
