I was at my local marina on Friday. The owner and I were talking about
the effect of rising gas prices. They told me how everything was going up
significantly from wood delivery being cut from every two weeks to once a
month, so they had to find room for the extra wood (there's camping at the
lake). The septic service has gone up $100. They've been giving their
minimum wage employees bonuses in their pay checks to help cover the price
of gas to get to and from the lake. And boat rentals for labor day
weekend were being cancelled as quick as they could answer the phone;
folks were choosing to stay home and have a picnic, etc. The rental
cancellations were a direct result of New Orleans' effect on gas prices.

I spent the afternoon installing a depth sounder on my boat. The boat is
parked in a fenced in lot owned by a pretty nice guy who is allowing me to
store it there for free.

Anyway....he pulled into the lot this afternoon to attend to some items
with his business (a lawn fertilizer company) and stopped to chat when he
was ready to leave. He said that fertilizer prices are going through the
roof because of the oil price situation. He is also getting hit hard with
additional fuel costs with his fleet of vehicles.

Last week I met with the CFO of a company that manufactures custom molded
PVC trays for company's like Eveready (to put their batteries and
flashlights in).....He said the cost of PVC pellets is going through the
roof.

We are all going to be paying more for most everything we buy because of
the outrageous prices of oil.

The towelheads are laughing their asses off with every new million dollars
they make in a day.

Edit. Brain fart. Please respond using this edit, otherwise don't blame
me for one of the sentences.
