It seems to me that since most of the more powerful interests in
Washington had to be dragged in, kicking & screaming, in order to
"investigate" at all, they did a great job.

If it were up to the White House or some of the allied heads of
Congress, there would have been NO investigation. It would have been
"Nothing happening here, nothing to see, move along folks."

The fact that those same powerful interests are slinging mud at the
results tells me more about them than about the investigation.

When the normative histories of the period we are currently living in
