It's an authentic replica, not an authentic Viking boat.



Given that the Viking era was 1000+ years ago it has to be
a replica and being built the way it is it's hardly authentic.


I don't know if ice cream on a stick would have been a big favourite
among Vikings. Maybe. Could be a hypothetical authentic replica.

I considered making a boat out of discarded venetian blind slats and glue.
They used to have venetian blinds with real redwood slats in all the
government offices here in Ottawa. Discarded in the 1970's. Unfortunately
they're all plastic or metal now which I think expand and contract too
much with the heat to be of use. I tested some plastic ones.
