Do they own any recreational boats?
Sweden and Denmark appear to own more boats per capita, than we do. The
rest of Europe, however, falls way behind.

Denmark has 220,000 outboard-powered motorboats and 25,000
inboard-engined motorboats. At $7/gallon, I wonder how much use they
get?
From my house north of St. Augustine in Florida, a five minute ride north
or south at small-horsepower rowboat speed would take you to places almost
guaranteed to offer up sea trout, flounder, redfish, blues, whiting,
cobia, and catfish. You could spend the day fishing for ten bucks worth of
gas. You do NOT have to go way offshore to catch fish in the ocean.
To catch large *edible* pelagics in August you do. I could have caught all
the kings that I wanted on the near shore reefs, but just this one time we
were after meat.
