I am looking at a boat that needs a new deck hatch (plastic lens is
cracked). How difficult is it to replace a hatch (10" x 10")?
Mine was pretty easy......the plexi was just held in by the
caulking......ran a razor blade knife around it, and pulled it out.
Took
the plexi to a plexi fabricator and had them duplicate it...holes
curves
etc. (cost was around $100) ...yes I could have done it myself, but
time
was
an issue.......then just use the marine caulk to set it back
in......make
sure you tape it off because that stuff is a bitch to clean off (it
takes
a
could days to set hard)
Thanks for the information but it is a moot issue now. The seller just
called and refused our offer. So onto looking at more boats. ;-)
You might want to look up in the Detroit area.......I've never seen so
many
boats for sale.........and from what I hear from the brokers.....there
are
a
lot of repos out there as well.
Can you name some reputable dealers in that area?

Here are a few. there are several others.....as well as lots "by owner"
If you haven't been up this way.....Lake St. Clair has one of the largest
concentrations of boats in the country.
