I'd suggest "Desirable and Undesirable Characteristics of Offshore
Yachts" by Stephen Davis and John Rousmaniere (Ed). It was written in
the aftermath of the Fastnet disaster as a "lessons learned."

And John Vigor's "Seaworthy Offshore Sailboat."
