Mine is mounted on the dash of my cabin cruiser and I have no problem
reading it in bright sunshine from the wheel.

Hi,

I am thinking of getting the Garmin 172C - does anyone have
experience with this model?

It is about £410 in the UK

Thanks

I have had the 172C for almost a year now, and think it is one of
the
best bargains in large screen color chart plotters. I use it with
BlueChart on my boat and have had absolutely no problems.

Hello,

Does the 172 have depth contours? Can you use it with the fishing
hotspot maps. I have a Ranger bass boat, and want to get a plotter
for my dash and a plotter/sonar for my bow.

Thanks

Chris

It looks very tiny compared to my Dell with the 17" screen, but I suppose
any optician could supply spectacles suitable for viewing/magnifying it.
