Braan Video Competition
Please spread details of the Braan Video Competition in support of the
Hydro / Access Campaign as widely as possible. Entries could focus on
the paddling, the tourism eg Rumbling Bridge falls, ecology of the
river or the paddling - whatever you think could help make the case.
Special Video Competition
Braan Hydro / Access Campaign
"Why the Braan should be saved"
or use your own title
All entries will be shown at the Scottish Paddlefest in October
Length:
3 - 5 mins max. NB all entries will be cut at the 5 min mark....
Shorter entries will likely gain more credit in the judging.
Format:
VHS, mini DV or DVD
Content:
You have complete freedom in making the video - for example it
doesn't all have to be about the Braan - you could cover the wider
issue of why Scottish rivers should not be dammed. You have a three to
five minute video to make your case to a politician or non-paddling
member of the public.
Given the short time scale (ie 3 months to October) you can use other
people's footage; just make sure you give full credit.
Music:
No restriction on music for the competition - but we will need to
fulfil copyright laws for future use as an access video.
Future Use:
We hope to use the winner as part of the access campaign.
The SCA Access officer may suggest changes to the video after the
competition, in discussion with film maker.
Entries:
by - Thursday 13 October (this is later than deadline for other videos
for Paddle Fest) direct to Andy Watt, 11 Draffen Mount, Stewarton,
Ayrshire, KA3 5LG
or by Monday 10 October to the SCA office.
Judges:
Andy Watt, John Picken + 3rd judge TBC
