You're not to bright, are you Doug? You were replying to a post by

Is there really much difference between you and him? :-)

I saw the smilie, and at first thought it a little funny. Then after
a couple minutes thought, it's not so funny anymore. You wouldn't
have written it if you didn't think it. And therein lies the
problem...

You seem to see the world in black and white. Through a jaundiced
eye. You don't see shades of grey. And that seems to define the
Democratic Party today.

I am a typical conservative. I don't agree with *everything* the
Republican Party is pushing, but I agree with most. I don't agree
with their stance on stem cem research, nor do I agree with their
stance on abortion. I also don't necessarily fall in line with the
liberal view on those issues. My views are somewhere in the middle.
That's where *most* of the conservatives I know place their beliefs as
well.

What is moving even moderates away from the Democratic Party is your
ultra-liberal, non-bending views. You guys are hanging yourselves,
and don't seem to realize it. You and a number of your brethren on
this NG are poster children for this sickness. The liberals are
driving a wedge into this county, and don't seem to care. Statements
like you'll "move away from this country if Bush is elected" (not made
by you), and calling President Bush a "puppy" (your quote!) are
helpful how? This is supposed to endear you to the majority of voters
who voted for President Bush? Present a better candidate, and maybe
you'll get some vote! But be aware that the American people are more
perceptive than you think.

I sometimes think that the two party system should be abolished, and
candidates should be elected on their *views*, and not their party
affiliations.

But would that leave people like you anything to hang onto?

The purple martins are swarming to the island in the middle of our
lake, I have tons of work to get my workshop built, and a James Taylor
concert to attend with wife and family this weekend, who are coming to
visit for a couple of days. Debate yourself.

Katie Couric exposed the true liebral thinking when she asked Sen Santorum
why he would come out with a book exposing his true beliefs right before a
critical election.
