Yeah, well, I've already done the 'over 30 feet' stint (times TWO
even!!!) - so I can probably "hold my own" with that crowd.
My boss has a 52' Hatteras (you know, cost more than what hubbie paid
for OUR HOUSE?!). I get to hear his Trials and Tribulations on a
fairly regular basis. I often tease him about how his definition of
boat-maintenance is "writing checks!"
I also gasp openly (and chuckle inwardly) when I get to hear about his
bills ($10,500 for a new dinghy davit?!! Ouch! Hate to guess what the
Helipad's gonna cost!!!)
I'm surprisingly satisfied (thus far) with my 16-foot Project. At
least I think I can safely say I haven't "bitten off more than I can
chew" with this one!
I *like* that the boat is small enough to be a "hobby" - rather than a
"chore!"
(Easy for me to say that, 'cuz I can't AFFORD a 52' Hatteras ;-)
And it'll be fun taking the dink out on our local lakes and teaching
hubbie (a Manly "More-Power" Powerboater from way back!) how to sail...
