I'm not Kevin, dip****. But, what I said was true. Timing on most
engines these days is ran by the computer, Smithers. Timing is
controlled by various sensors such as temp, ambient temp, knock
sensors, etc.
Lots of the engines are also timed via a timing light. Especially an 8 year
old model. On my 4.3L S10 you had to pull a wire to disable the computer
timing when setting the initial timing.
