Default Virginia: The Old Dominion

I just finished transcribing the book, "Virginia, The Old Dominion."
It was written by Frank W. Hutchins and Cortelle Hutchins. It's the
story of a fellow and his wife who, around 1900, built a houseboat and
travelled up the James River in Virginia where they visited several of
the plantations, Jamestown (before the restoration began) and
Williamsburg. This is the story of houseboating one hundred years ago.
How they built the boat, how they lived, what they saw. It also
speaks about how they managed to maneuver the boat, the weather, and
most importantly the sights that no one can see today. The language is
incredibly descriptive. Contact me at if you are
interested in seeing it.
