How many cars are able to make 225 hp out of a 2.0 liter engine...thus
getting 112.5 hp/liter? How many of 'em run their engines at nearly
80-90% of redline continuously for extended periods of time?
My commuter car has a 2.0L that makes 227 hp (stock), has AWD, and cost less
than $25K new. Granted I don't run at 6000 rpm continuously but the world rally
cup guys might. (Subaru WRX)
All more impressive because the car is a 4-stroke. I don't think any
4-stroke outboard gets much more than 120 hp from 2 liters. Redline
for continuous power rating has a different meaning for intermittent
rating as would be the case for a car.
