So I got my new 2005 Bayliner 175 Capri tonight,
and actually dumped it in the lake tonight, (whew!)

So the question I have is - can I wax this thing with
regular car wax? (or even something for basecoat/clearcoat)

Olympic did a very nice job cleaning it up for me when
I picked it up, and I was pretty impressed with it all.

However it seems too clean - squeaky clean. So clean
that every little scuff leaves a mark. Seems like it needs
a wax job. So is this doable? How soon, and what kind
of wax ?

Well, geeze 'um pete - it's new!! You need to run it up on the beach
at full speed, bang it into a dock or two, scrape it up against the
garage door three or four times to get that "lived in" look.

That will make you feel a lot better about it.

PS: Yes - you can wax your boat. I use Maquire's.
