Friend tried one on his 16' bass boat w/ 90 hp motor. He is all the time
going into shallow water and bumping (and tearing up his aluminum prop). I
told him to get a SS prop as it will hold up to the bumps. He tried the
pirhana. Lost 2 mph on top end from the aluminum prop. About the same out
of the hole as the aluminum. If he touched the bottom it would break a
blade. After about 3 times out and 3 rebuilds - he bought the SS prop
(black standard SS). It is scratched up but never had to rebuild it and got
3 mph top end over the pirhana.

I have not bought a motor for my boat yet.
I live within 20 miles of Pirhana's HQ. The local dealer likes them a
lot. They have had good reviews in the magazines. It has been my
experience that magazine advertisers often get good reviews,
regardless of true quality.

What is your personal experience with a Pirhana prop?

What boat do you have?
What HP engine do you have?
How do you normally use the boat (load, rpms, etc..)?

If you want the best performance your boat can provide you want a good SS
prop. Now you have to decide 3 blade or 4 blade (or in some cases 5
blade).
3 blade gives better top end. 4 blade gives better acceleration and hole
shot and bow lift.
