Tom,
It sounds like SoFarrell is a racist and only certain people can tell
certain jokes. No doubt about it, SoFarrell is a biracial, ignorant racist
without a sense of humor.

This racist thread brought to you by wreck.boats :-(
Isn't this where we trot out the Chinese laundry jokes, or the tired
old saw about
telling a running back that the football is really a watermelon?
Will we ever get past dealing in racial stereotypes, or finding then
"amusing"?
Racist thread? It is a joke and nothing racist about it. The guy is
punch drunk and even if he were white he would talk like that.
Get a life Chuck................. and then a sense of humor.
I'm mixed race and find the joke racially offensive.
Ok, why? It's a joke about a person, not a nationality, race or
ethnic background - why should it be offensive? The fact that Mike
Tyson is black isn't relevant - it's about him as an individual,
nothing more, nothing less.
So did you find the Wacko Jacko jokes last night funny?
Down here, only a black person or a white racist would tell that
kind of joke and it is ok for ethnics to tell jokes on themselves.
So black persons and white racists are the same for telling the same
joke?
That's pretty unique.
Because of the color of my skin I don't tell many irish jokes unless
they are very gentle.
So in your mind, the color of your skin or ethnic heritage is
important in designing the proper joke - kind of like a designer joke?
Do you find Chris Rock offensive when he does black "humor"? How
about Robin Williams when he does the blind blues singer who is
obviously meant to be black and is, in fact, very stereotypical?
Tell me - am I black, white, yellow or mixed race - can you tell? Am
I Amerindian, Lithuanian, Corsican or Cape Verdian? Do you know? Can
you tell what will and won't offend me? Can you say with any sort of
definite evidence that I will be offended if you tell a joke about
short people having Napoleon complexes?
How would you go about telling a joke in this medium that was not
offensive if you don't rely on that element of truth which is in all
humor - the differences between peoples belief's, ethnicity and
character?
There is no such thing as a neutral joke. All the best jokes are told
with social, ethnic, color or lifestyle differences in mind - that is
what makes them funny and, in a kind of odd way, instructive.
Later,
Tom
