Unfortunately Chuck, that pronunciation *is* typical for blacks in this
area. I live in SC, and while all blacks don't speak that way, a large
number do. And most of these aren't uneducated people... I can think of
several from my graduating class in high school that required concentration
to be able to understand.

It goes on to this day. It's a *choice* made by them to speak in that
manner. It severely limits their acceptance by mainstream society, and the
opportunities available to them. You, the ACLU, and the NAACP do them no
favors by coddling and accepting their behavior, and telling Bill Cosby to
shut up when he points it out. You... the PC crowd, *are* part of the
problem.

Like any American city, their are parts of Columbia, SC that are pockets of
drug and crime activity. The Columbia Police Dept.started a "Clean Sweep"
program a couple of weeks ago to try to stem the drug activity in the
downtown area. The ACLU and NAACP were quick to swoop in and proclaim that
blacks were being targeted by the police. They called news conferences and
condemned the activities. To the local news show's credit, when they
covered this, they showed one final clip at the end. It was several black
women who were saying that they *welcomed* the clean sweep program in their
neighborhoods! They were tired of the drugs and crime, and wanted to
reclaim their neighborhood. The organizations get so caught up in pushing
their agendas that they forget to listen to their constituents. Pretty much
like the PC crowd... squashing any recognition of reality, just pushing
their blind agendas.
