I have a 1968/ 1969 Johnson 55hp with full controls and dash.. the motor runs fairly well but has some power issues at idle (will sometimes stall when thrown in to gear at low rpm). I might want to use it as an opportunity to learn how to rebuild a carb or even the whole thing, but if anyone wants to buy it from me, even for parts, let me know. I figure the hydro-electric lower unit must be valuable as a replacement part to some...
I do have photos of the engine, inside and out.

can anyone advise if it's worth tinkering, or should I try to sell it?
