Those are the "standard" ratio but each boat manufacturer can get
several
different ratios from Merc. If your talking the same boat w/ the 4.3 or
the
3.0 then this is probably true. If your talking different boats I would
not
make that assumption. On a heavy 20' boat w/ the 4.3 you may very well
find
the 2.0 gear.

same.
However, they may or may not have a different gear ratio in them.

on the weight of the boat and how they are setup. In general they
tend
to
use the same gear but not always.
