This thread has really taken off and I'm behind. I'll just hit a couple of
highlights that have also been touched on by others.

It seems to me that, complaints about supposed TOS transgressions can go one
of two ways...
If they're upheld, then the transgressor got what they deserved,

If they aren't upheld, then there was no transgression,

There is a third consideration, and it's the injustice I've referred
to.
It's when complaints are used as a weapon in a flamewar.
Multiple exaggerated complaints -- sometimes with help from others
in the group -- are sent to a provider and that provider caves in.
Many providers are wise to this game and won't take sides; sadly,
sometimes it works.
Then they brag about it. Then others get the idea that it works.
Then, since it works, it's used more. They scream "Forgery! Libel!
Spam! Spam! Spam!" in an effort to do away with the folks they
don't like on the other side of the flamewar. When, in reality,
the only offense has been insult, ridicule and parody.
That's the 'rogue netcopping'. That's the injustice. That's what
pushes my buttons enough to motivate me to say something.
... thereby quelling the need for a loud and boisterous protest of
those injustices. If they don't, they're complicit in the injustice by
allowing it to fester.
[...]
I don't subscribe to the view that not taking a stand means that those on
the sidelines are suddenly complicit.
[...]
Even though I disagree, I'll grant that it's your choice to stay
uninvolved even when something bad is happening.
But, I'm going to throw my 2 cents in. I'm going to say something
about it and I may (or may not) choose to use insult, ridicule,
and/or parody to deliver my point.
