MSV?? What's that mean? Motor Sailer Vessel?
Motor/Sailing Vessel
If so, it's no
wonder you're an advocate. Smelled too many exhaust fumes and
warped your thinking, it seems.
Most times running downwind I sail only, extra power is not needed to
obtain hull speed, You would think a fomous mariner like you would
understand that. And we running upwind I leave my exhaust in my wake.
Motor sailed? I've never motor sailed and I'm proud of the fact!
Motor sailing is in the same class as motor rowing - you ain't
arowin' if you're amotorin' and you ain't asailin' if your
amotorin'.
I disagree.. If the sail are applying pressure to move the vessel then
you are indeed sailing. If you apply just enough pressure with your
prop to obtain hull speed then you are assisting your sails. Do not
throw away the bicycle just because you know how to walk.
Just so you know, being becalmed is part of sailing.
I agree, and if I have the need to be becalmed I all I have to do to do
it as well as you is nothing.
Iron jennys
are an abomination to life at sea on other than commercial
enterprise where they have their place.
Yes and cars are an abomination to life on land on other than
commerical application where they have a place. However the benifits
outweighs the cost overall.
Next thing you'll be aclaimin' is a proper yacht should be
constructed of steel instead of wood. And you have the nerve to
call me a putz? You're a motorboater, straight and forward.
Perhaps I made a mistake aputtin' you on the captain's list.
RedCloud is a 100% sailing vessel, and 100% power vessel. Or any
mixture of the two. I would say its usually 80%sail power 20% motor. In
other word is 100 times better than most boats.
What have ye to say in your defense, sir?
99.9 % of the time when just daysailing like 99% of this group, I
purely sail as im not on a journey and eager to arrive.
How's the weather in the Keys?
