Haven't used the West Marine model, but since it contains
only diodes, there isn't much room for mischief or mystery.
If you haven't done so, you might download the manual for
the isolator from West Marine, as well as the info sheet for
the "galvanic capacitor." Some manufacturers include the
capacitor in the isolator.
I would say that a good GFI is much more important than the
capacitor.
Good luck.

I am considering purchasing a Galvanic Isolator.
The West Marine Galvanic Isolator Model 3705233 is currently on sale for
less than $100.
Any views/comments positive or negative on this unit?
Thanks in advance
