Can anyone comment on the effectiveness of Interlux VC 17 in Maine
waters? It's what's on the boat now and I'd like to avoid the surface

to go swimming to keep the bottom clean.

I use it or VC 17M in Lake Ontario, so I can't comment on its use in
salt water. It's fine for here if you wipe down the turn of the bilge
on the sunny side of the dock once or twice a season. It's more
cruiser than racer...they seem to like the exotic stuff.

Last year I more or less lost my season due to a family illness, and
the freshly bottom painted boat sat at dock. Only a little scum
formed, so little that I'm going to lightly ScotchBrite around the
waterline and about a foot below and just touch up. This paint's
ablative, so those touch ups will include a fresh coat on the "leading
edges".

Hope this helps. VC17 is sort of the default setting here in Toronto.
