Harry,
Have you decided it makes sense to own a handgun?
I think you missed my point concerning the legal system. You might have
talked to a local county mounty, but if you had actually been assaulted, you
would have legal recourse. Obviously, Tuuk's ISP and your local deputy did
not agree with you.
Tell us again about the evils of owning handguns.

SoF,
I thought you had me killfiled?
Either way, I really don't care, but I know anyone who was concerned
about a legitimate threat or was being stalked by someone who was guilty
of assault would be a fool not to use the legal system to follow up on
the threat. It would be very silly to post pictures of a animals holding
a gun and showing a picture of your glock. Especially if you had spent
years discussing the evils of handguns. This is not only my opinion, but
the opinion of Tuuk's ISP.
So either you believe Harry to be a fool, or you agree he really did not
view any of the idle chit chat in rec.boats to be a serious threat.
I'm not following your droppings here closely, so don't get all excited,
but are you claiming I haven't used the legal system regarding Tuuk?
If you are, you're as mistaken about that as you are about virtually
everything else in life.
Our local deputy is aware of Tuuk and Tuuk's threats. He contacted the
RCMP as did I. That's all that was necessary.
The local deputy had some interesting advice that would be useful to
anyone facing someone trying to invade a home, as Tuuk threatened to do.
The advice: call 911 and leave the line open as you shoot the invader as
many times as you are able. That way, the 911 tape recorder will catch
some of the "action" for posterity.
I see you made reference to my fun "Homeland Security" site and drew an
erroneous conclusion after looking it over, the reference to "your"
(meaning my) Glock. I do not own a Glock 17. The one in the photo on my
site was a rental I practice with at one of the ranges I frequent. I rent
the Glock 17 because it is a simple, reliable and accurate semi-automatic
with a large magazine and it shoots relatively cheap 9mm ammo. My favorite
practice ammo for a Glock 9mm is CCI/Speer Blazer 115 grain full metal
jacket in aluminum casings. With aluminum instead of brass, the price for
100 rounds is around $11.00 from many mail-order suppliers. The FMJ
encases the lead bullet and keeps lead particles from from clogging up the
barrel.
I'm surprised you didn't have some idiotic comment on how pale my hand
looks in that photo.
If I were going to depend upon a handgun for home defense, I'd probably go
for something heavier than 9mm. Probably .45ACP.
In another post, you inferred you were "Roger" of sheep-porking fame.
How's the dog?
