In the case of Johnny Cochran, stupid jurors were responsible for his fame.

Cochran was a respected civil rights lawyer who acted for poor black
people - often when nobody else would - earlier in his career.

I count that as a countervailing factor, just as I see a former
President's Habitat house-building as a saving grace too.

Cochran was a first-class criminal defense attorney who did his job
well, and with style. The job of a criminal defense attorney is to
defend his/her clients. The guilt or innocence of those clients is not
relevant, nor should it be.

OJ killed Nicole. Incompetent prosecutors and crooked cops made
Cochran's job easier.

If you are curious about our criminal justice system, check out the
number of poor people accused of murder, convicted and sentenced who are
now being released on the basis of DNA evidence. I wonder how many of
those convicted of murder but actually innocent our society has put to
death?

Probably about the same ratio as those guilty of a crime and set free
on a "technicality"......
