On a dual station (cabin/flybridge) Morse s/twin s control system wired
in
series we have a problem. If you push the port throttle forward on the
flybridge the throttle opens, but if you pull back the throttle does not
come back. The throttle is able to be pulled back in the cabin. The
throttle works perfectly fine in the cabin. On a visual inspection the
cable between the flybridge and cabin looks fine and looks as though it
moves when moving the flybridge port lever.
Thoughts???
I have the same setup. Decided that the cables had seen enough (Morse
red jacket) and started looking for their replacement. I settled on the
teleflex xtreme cables.
Prior to, the controls were sticky at the flybridge helm. With a little
maintenance on both upper and lower controls and the new cables, it's a
dream come true. Push 'em back and forth with one finger, no sticking.
If you end up replacing, I recommend the xtreme cables. Still silky
smooth 4 years later.
