FS: Cedar Strip Kayak
Hand crafted, Guillemot sea kayak redesigned for a smaller paddler. 15 feet
length by 21 inch width yielding 140 lb displacement at 4 inches.
In the designers words, this is a playful boat designed for playing in rock
gardens.
Loosely translated, the rear keel is not as defined as the front allowing
easy
quick turns. While great for playing, crosswinds will force more corrective
strokes to keep on track. I added an adjustable retractable skeg to allow
full
control over tracking characteristics.
Flush hatches held down by internal bundgy cords (method developed by Ross
Leidy
http://www.blueheronkayaks.com/). Perimeter lines front and rear.
Deck bundgies front and rear for holding gear like water bottles, bailing
device, map, compass, spare paddle,
etc.
Minicell foam seat. Replaceable hip pads for customizable paddler fit along
with knee hooks and adjustable foot pegs to get maximum boat control.
Adjustable retractable skeg allows for easy adjustment of tracking
characteristics. Great when paddling in different conditons like crosswinds
or areas where quick steering responses are desired.
6 oz fiberglass used throughout the boat, Double layer on hull, full length.
Also doubled up in seat compartment.
Weight without gear, 43 lbs
