I found out why..., launch ramps CLOSED!
I asked a friend who runs a launch facility in another town.
Los Angeles Harbour had a "specific threat", and so, decided to close
the launch facilities.
With the few people using them, I would rather have seen them use the
manpower to observe and capture one of these "evil doers".
How did closing a couple of launch ramps that would have had a dozen
uses, at the most, help make us safer? One guy looking closely at the
boats might have caught someone, and maybe LEARNED something.
Something that might have helped make us safer.
It turns out that Howard Dean is right, you know.

There are already some security zones in Long Beach Harbor. Probably can
not launch and stay the 500' from the cruise and cargo ships. Remember this
is one of the busier West coast ports.

The cop sitting by the closed sign told me that it was closed because of

Anyone know anything about this? Is this what we can expect from now on?
There must have been another reason - that just doesn't make any
sense.
