Has anyone else noticed that he is really coming apart at the seems?

He starts out sort of dignified and even prissy, but as his own thoughts are
turned inward on him through conflict with basic logic and reason, he comes
unravelled rather quickly and starts to lash out in a vulgar and violent
fashion.

What we seem to have here is an angry ex-cop anxious for the opportunity to
kill someone.

One day it will be a moment of dubious distinction to be able to say "I
corresponded with Scott Weiser before he went postal."
