I stand corrected, but not surprised. But my original point
remains:
what
the hell were they thinking? Who was the driver? If the driver was
a
local, was this another setup, to create a friendly fire incident
upon
which
the world press would jump?
Having driven in Italy, by motorcycle, I can tell you that Italian
drivers are
the scariest bunch of people on the planet. They like to go fast and
stop for
nothing. The Italians have wasted a lot of money on their equivalent
of
'yield'
signs!
Of course, it could be that an Italian wasn't driving, in which case
I
have no
idea what was going on.
Romania was worse than Italy :-)

I'm talking about cars, not horses!
These were cars.......but you had to dodge the occasional gypsy cart as
well. To give you an example, if you had two lanes at a light.....you would
have up to five cars in line all trying to get ahead..........you parked on
the sidewalk if there wasn't room on the street....pass on the trolley
lines....while playing chicken with the trolleys.......and in the country,
hitchickers would step out in front of you car to get you to stop........it
was nuts..
