I stand corrected, but not surprised. But my original point remains:

the hell were they thinking? Who was the driver? If the driver was a
local, was this another setup, to create a friendly fire incident upon

the world press would jump?


Having driven in Italy, by motorcycle, I can tell you that Italian
drivers are
the scariest bunch of people on the planet. They like to go fast and
stop for
nothing. The Italians have wasted a lot of money on their equivalent of
'yield'
signs!

Of course, it could be that an Italian wasn't driving, in which case I
have no
idea what was going on.

Romania was worse than Italy :-)
