NAPA seal drawers?
And is that a seven eighty ninths inch drill bit?
Or seven eights by nine inch long drill bit?
Answer these questions and I promise I'll read the manual before asking more
questions.

I'm trying to fix a 1990 Johnson 70 hp.
Should I buy the OMC manual for $63 or the Seloc one for $24?
It needs hydrolic tilt/trim work, and maybe more.
My father in law gave it to me. Apparently it runs ok.

I just built a stand for it out of 3/4" plywood and 4x4's. Its very

rugged.
Need one? I'll send a link to photos/dimensions.

Damn - I just threw one of those away. Go with the Seloc manual -
it's a good one and gives you the information you need.

Couple of tips on the trim and tilt.

If you are planning on rebuilding the lift unit, be prepared to search
for the parts and/or spending some time at the NAPA seal drawers.
The parts are still available, but you might have to coax a dealer
into finding them for you.

Removing the tile piston seal is not difficult, but it requires a
special tool which you can make yourself with a couple of ten penny
nails, a 2X4 and a 7/89" wood bit.

Use brake wrenches when taking the pressure/return lines off piston
and pump. You will never find new lines for those beasts.

On the pump motor, be very careful removing it to inspect or replace
the impeller - I speak from experience.

Other than that, the trim/tilt is an easy rebuild.

Have fun.
