I think I might have figured this one out. Since she's sitting in salt
water, which is more dense than rain (fresh) water, it seems she could take
on rain and still float until the ocean acutally came in over the gunwales.
Since anything that's less dense than a liquid will float on that liquid,
and the only new mass that's being added is rainwater, which is less dense
than ocean water, the boat should remain afloat. (Until I board her to bail
her out!)

Hey, I have a Cal-25 at anchorage and it's been too blustery to check on
her. She not at all weatherproof and last time these storms came through
Calif. her entire bilge was full of water. Took 20 minutes to pump out.
How much water can she hold before sinking to the bottom?
