I'm angered by the fact that I have to subsidise people who claim that

Don't let your blood pressure get into the red zone, you mindless,
clueless jerk. I'm self-employed. Yes, my staff and my practice did
suffer financially by my absence, but you obviously have never had a
genuine influenza, or you'd not be defecating from your pie-hole about
things you so obviously know absolutely nothing about.

Wanna talk about irresponsibility? How about those doctors that continue
to see patients while shedding influenza virus? Epidemics have resulted
from such negligence. Influenza is consistently among the top ten killers
worldwide. The Hong Kong flu of the mid-70s killed more than half a
million. The Port Chalmers flu killed about half that many. Type A
influenza kills roughly 50,000 annually, and Type B somewhat less,
primarily because it is rarer.

You'd be well-advise to put a cork in it, lest you appear a bigger asshole
than most of us already acknowledge you to be.
