OPERATION GRATITUDE

by Sgt. Christopher Stanis, 1AD PAO

BAGHDAD, Iraq * This holiday season, Santa isnšt the only one making
a list and checking it twice.

Thousands of 1st Armored Division Soldiers in Iraq and service members
throughout the U.S. military who are deployed overseas will be
remembered this holiday season because of Carolyn Blashek and
Operation Gratitude.

Meanwhile, in the real world of Iraq:

Iraqi rebels kill two U.S. soldiers in Iraq after grenade, rocket,
mortar attacks across Baghdad

By Christopher Torchia, Associated Press, 12/26/2003 05:14

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) Iraqi insurgents shelled a base northeast of Baghdad,
killing two U.S. soldiers on a day of grenade, rocket and mortar attacks
on the capital, the military said Friday.

Four other soldiers were wounded when mortars hit the base in Baqouba,
30 miles northeast of Baghdad on Thursday, Maj. Josslyn Aberle of the
4th Infantry Division said Friday.

The Christmas Day rocket and mortar attacks on the capital hit a hotel
housing foreigners and targeted two banks, several embassies and a U.S.
Army base.

Did you get a new pair of blinders for Christmas, John?

harry, you are to be pitied.

Harry doesn't realize that we can all read the bad news in the liberal
press, where anything good is not likely to be seen.

Of course, he also gets a gleam in his eye *anytime* he comes across
something negative about the president, the administration, or this
country. I've never been able to figure it out.
