I used to go to Rossini's in Cheshire

Yup, Rossini's has good pie as well. It was started (when I was in high
school) by a couple of guys that worked at Bimonte's in Hamden. Same pie
w/out the drive. It's still there, and doing very well. Great calzones too!
My bro always calls me as he's driving there to pick up his order....

DAMN, I'm hungry now!

Might as well jump in as an old Connectikite (def: one from CT) myself.
I lived in Cheshire from 1972 - 1986. My mother and brother still live
there. I remember Pepe's, as well as Sallys, and Bimonte's (in Hamden)
very well. Though I understand Joe Bimonte died a few years back. I
thought the place next to Pepe's (same owner. same pie was called "The
Spot?" Did that change?

The best pie in the world comes from that part of CT! I miss it!

Sallys is the 2nd best pizza. Did you ever check out the bakeries right
next door? Super Italian pastries.

In the good old days, and I mean old, all the Italian purveyors would
participate in the Feast of the Assumption festival, which was held at
the end of Whalley Avenue, just under the Merrit Parkway. Every
good-looking olive-skinned beauty in southern Connecticut would show up
there. Whew!

I went to Derby and Seymour High. I used to go to Rossini's in Cheshire
and the Town Line Pizza and Seafood. My favorite italian food was Roseland
in Derby. There's also a great little place in Wallingford on Rt.5 called
Fratelli's
