Might as well jump in as an old Connectikite (def: one from CT) myself. I
lived in Cheshire from 1972 - 1986. My mother and brother still live there.
I remember Pepe's, as well as Sallys, and Bimonte's (in Hamden) very well.
Though I understand Joe Bimonte died a few years back. I thought the place
next to Pepe's (same owner. same pie was called "The Spot?" Did that change?
The best pie in the world comes from that part of CT! I miss it!

Good News!
Do you know how simple it is to go to Heaven after this
life has ended?
Sure...you turn right at Pepe's Pizza on Wooster Street in New Haven.
You know from Pepe's, eh? Absolutely the best pizza in the known
universe. When were you in New Haven? Are you old enough to remember
any of the *real* Jimmie's in Savin Rock?
Sure do...you used to have to fight the seagulls in the parking lot for
your food. Home of the "Original Split Dog" I also remember riding the
Red Devil coaster(not the original one that burned) and I can still hear
the "Fat Lady Singing"
Are you a native of the area?
I remember the first Jimmie's, and then the bigger one that was built
right behind the remnants of Savin Rock...that was the one with the huge
parking lot and the great food line with the dogs cooking. The Gagliardi
Brothers, I recall, as the owners. They had some nice boats and a great
house out in Milford.
I used to like the Wild Mouse. And the B-29,
Yes, I was a native til 1995, then I moved to NC. I also remember the new
restaurant which had none of the charm that the old place had. Phyliss
built right next door. They also opened a place in the Hamden Plaza. I
seemed to remember that they had quite a yacht that they kept in Milford.
I lived in the valley and I have a son who still lives in Wallingford. My
brother and sister both live in Naugatuck where they raise naugas for
naugahide.
