In August of 2003 the family and I drove from Alexandria Bay, NY, USA to
Montreal, CA. Driving through Ontario there were signs in English and
French
and the Canadian flag was displayed along with the Ontario provincial flag
at all visitor centers and government buildings we saw. But, once we
crossed
into Quebec the Canadian flag was nowhere in sight, nothing was in English
and it was a different world.


Quebec is the tail that wags the dog. It is bound and determined to keep
the French language relevant in a sea of Anglophones.
